I graduated with a second-class upper division from Bingham University Computer Science department, Nigeria. I have also had a flair for creating something big. After my graduation, I enrolled for the NYSC programme which is recommended for all Nigerian graduates; I passed out November 2019, along side my friend Daniel Eze, who bunked and served together in the same organization i.e. Galaxy Backbone LTD FCT abuja, Nigeria.

NYSC by left NAVY by right

After my passing out from the NYSC I applied to be commissioned into the Nigerian Navy as a Direct Short Service Commission; I passed the Exams successfully, I was invited for the interview in Navy Town Lagos Nigeria. I was at Navy Town by 27th December 2019, where we started the interview and screening process.

At the time before I entered the camp I had a full Afro Hair style which I had to cut down, I went all bald (lol), eventually the interview process span till the following year 2020, I spent my new year eve service connected to HelloLoveWorld internet TV station to listen to my man of God, Rev Dr Chris Oyakhilome. It was a blissful news to hear that the year 2020 is the year of PERFECTION! boy was I glad!

Navy Town enlistment exercise 2019/2020

To cut the story short I was screened out of the Navy enlisting exercise due to medical complications, thus I lost my chance of becoming a Nigerian Navy Officer. Sad right? Well I prayed and learnt from my Bible that ‘all things work together for good to them that love GOD’.

My Brother

I returned to my brother’s (that’s my brother receiving the award from Rev. Dr Chris O.) after I was screened out, he lives in Lagos NG, we got talking and he fed me with so many ideas. He actually motivated me to start up ‘wullap’ at the time wullap’s vision was just birthed. As time passed the vision became clearer. So I reached out to my course mates from Bingham University i.e Adole Samuel, Eze Daniel, and one of my favorite lecturer Mr Barka Fori aka boss major, Roman Saidus. I reached them with the idea behind wullap and we got started building the platform.

Not withstanding, I have a motivator who constantly pushed me towards achieving my goals. He’d say I can do anything I put my mind to, that’s my dad Barr. A J Nyako and Mrs AJ Nyako (mom); I’ll always be grateful for they played a vital role in raising a King. I love you guys!

In my next post about ‘Building my first tech startup Part 2’ I’ll write about how I got funded and how I created the company in my mind (in the spirit realm — vision, confession e.t.c ) before it became physical. Thanks for reading, I’ll see you soon…
